Mazapatec is a variety of Psilocybe cubensis. This variety’s natural habitat is the mountainous Mazatepec region of Mexico and is one of the first varieties to be introduced to western culture. In nature their fruiting bodies are of average size, and their cap shape is bulb shaped. The fruit color range between shades of brown to gold have a slender elongated stem. Mazapatec units are dark purplish brown to violet brown.
